Sorting and cataloging your humongous collecting of “rare” cardboard: it’s a question as old as time itself for some. Such questions are followed closely by the pains of ordering cards you already own. Knowing what you already have when you’re figuring out what you need can be nerve wracking. That’s when you download the new Pokémon TCG Card Dex.
Earlier this morning The Pokémon Company unveiled their new app which will allow fans of the TCG to digitally catalog their collections. While it would be totally cool to browse older sets, the app only dates back to the Sun & Moon block. Trainers will be able to scan in their cards on mobile devices to better track what they’ve already acquired, as well as browse a built-in database of all the cards. Not quite as robust as some might have hoped, judging by the small bit of information released there doesn’t seem to be any tie-in functionality with the online TCG counterpart—the client still isn’t available on phones—but with all that’s been done as of lately to interweave the IP’s various titles together across devices, we might see the inclusion of such features in the future.
The TCG Card Dex is currently only available in Sweden at the time of writing, so if you’re looking for new ways to obsess over your obsession make sure to keep you’re eyes peeled on Google Play and the App Store.
