RuneScape Classic’s End and the Legendary Quest

Too Far Gone | RuneScape Classic

On May 23, Jagex announced the farewell of RuneScape Classic after 17 years of operation, citing game-breaking bugs, maintenance issues, and the rise of botting. The server was set to finally close its doors early morning August 6, but this didn’t stop Twitch streamer Titus_Furius from setting out to complete the infamous Legends’ Quest before the game’s end.

Added on August 20 back in 2003, the quest is notorious for being one of the longest quests in the game, granting the player access to the Legends’ Guild, “the most exclusive of all quest-based guilds in RuneScape.” Completing the line grants users the privilege of purchasing the Cape of Legends, something of a status symbol among seasoned RuneScape players.

With Jagex mods cheering on his twelve-hour mission, Titus completed the quest and acquired the cape three minutes before the server shutdown, after a two hour extension in lieu of the what served a bit of a swan song ending.

The final moments can be viewed from Titus’s stream. And the final line uttered?
