Who’s That New Pokémon?

Too Far Gone | Pokemon Zeraora

Do you know exactly how many Pokémon there are? There are hundreds of different species out there,  but if your tally ends at 806, as of April 8, you are incorrect. Zeraora, the thunderclap Pokémon, is the 807th addition to the Pokédex and will be joining the cast of Pokémon: Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon at an unannounced date. While little is known about this new mythical pocket monster, according to the official Pokémon website Zeraora is an Electric Type Pokémon. But unlike most Pokémon that share its type, Zeraora does not have an organ that produces its own electricity, instead it gathers its potent electrical powers from outside sources.

Zeraora was revealed by The Pokémon Company in the first official trailer for Pokémon: Everyone’s Story, in which we get a quick glimpse of the brand new Pokémon. The twenty-first installment in the Pokémon movie franchise will also feature the legendary Pokémon Lugia from Pokémon: Gold & Silver. The movie finds Ash and Pikachu traveling to Fura City for the “Wind Festival,” a celebration during which Lugia is said to appear and bless the people of the city. Pokémon: Everyone’s Story is being produced by Wit Studio, the good folks behind Attack on Titan, and The Ancient Magus’ Bride, and will be released on July 13 2018 in Japan. So far there are no details on Western screening dates, or when owners of Pokémon: Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon will be able to get their hands on Zeraora. In the meantime, both Raikou and Entei are up for grabs!
