Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet Launches Worldwide

Too Far Gone | Sword Art Online, Fatal Bullet

After being live in Japan for a couple of weeks now, Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet has been officially released to the rest of the world. In Fatal Bullet, players will make use of a variety of firearms as they traverse the world of Gun Gale Online (from the Phantom Bullet arc).

Instead of taking on the role of franchise fixture Kirito, players will create their own avatar with which to navigate the game (it would seem however, that a secondary “Hero Mode” story sequence is also available, in which you can play as Kirito and others). Promotional material has been keen to emphasize the impact of choices — suggesting that players will have significant story presence, allowing them to engage with the third person shooter in a meaningful way instead of simply buckling in for the ride. The compulsory multiplayer modes consist of group fights that revolve around boss takedowns, either with friends or against another squad in player-versus-player action.

Yesterday’s launch update sees the inclusion of some snazzy suit and tie DLC outfits, four NPCs, and a bumping up of the level cap (max level now being 150). Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and via Steam.
