The Latest Pokémon Event Codes

Pikachu, Celebi, Pokémon | Too Far Gone

Pokémon collectors are excited this week, as many of the event codes for Pokémoon Sun & Moon, and the anticipated Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, have become active. With the North American theatrical release of Pokémon The Movie: I Choose You on it’s way, Nintendo is granting six players the opportunity to claim an Ash’s Pikachu in-game. This distribution grants trainers a Level One Hardy Pikachu with Static bearing Thunderbolt, Quick Attack, Thunder and Agility, wearing Ash’s hat from the regions he has travelled. The kicker is that in order to get Ash’s Pikachu wearing his original hat from the Kanto/Jhoto region, players must redeem the code PIKACHU20 (because Pokémon The Movie: I Choose You is the 20th Pokémon movie to be released) between September 19th UTC 00:00 and September 25th UTC 23:59, via Mystery Gift. Although the code will be valid until October 30th, the hat on Ash’s Pikachu will change every week after September 25th to the one he wore in the subsequent region. The list is as follows:

  • 9/19/17 – 9/25/17: Original hat (Kanto and Johto regions)
  • 9/26/17 – 10/2/17: Hoenn region ha
  • 10/3/17 – 10/9/17: Sinnoh region hat
  • 10/10/17 – 10/16/17: Unova region hat
  • 10/17/17 – 10/23/17: Kalos region hat
  • 10/24/17 – 10/30/17: Alola region hat

Another piece of news that has filled former Gameboy Colour players with nostalgia is the release of Pokémon Gold & Silver in the e-Shop. Nintendo has vamped up the reboot of these classics by offering trainers who buy the new re-release a Level Thirty Any Nature Celebi with Natural Cure bearing Heal Bell, Safeguard, Ancient Power and Future Sight. If you buy the Gold or Silver reboot between September 21st and 22nd of next year, your personalized serial event code will be in the purchase details in your DS system files. So far, the only way to claim Celebi is through events, and unless the new release of Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon in November changes this, it will most likely stay this way for some time.

Alongside this, more Pokémon that aren’t available in Pokémon Sun & Moon have made their way to the game through the distribution of four new Mega Stones. The special mystery gift code DRACHE grants trainers an Ampharosite, Altarianite, Latiosite, and Latiasite, which will allow players the opportunity to mega-evolve their Ampharos, Altaria, Latios and Latias during battle. This code will only remain active until October 31st, and players will also need to have a Pokémon Bank subscription to use the items as Ampharos, Altaria, Latios and Latias are not found in the wild on the Alola region. However, you can still claim the codes without the Pokémon Bank subscription, incase you plan on obtaining these Pokémon through trades or at a later date.

Finally, for trainers holding a Marshadium Z at Level Fifty, the mythical Pokémon Marshadow with Any Nature, the Technician ability and the moves Spectral Thief, Close Combat, Force Palm & Shadow Ball will be available at your local Gamestop or EB Games from October 9th to 23rd.

If you’re an avid trainer or aspiring Pokémon master, make sure you grab these events while you can; you can also pre-order your copy of either Pokémon Ultra Sun or Pokémon Ultra Moon while claiming your Marshadow or watch the latest trailer for these upcoming titles below.
