Crunchyroll announces first physical releases

by Cody Hutt

In late 2016, two of the major anime streaming services in North America, Crunchyroll and Funimation, announced a partnership between the two companies to expand the library of titles available on each service. What this meant for anime fans was access to Funimation’s titles with Japanese audio and English subtitles on Crunchyroll, and Crunchyroll titles with English audio available on Funimation. While users of the two services reaped the benefits of this partnership almost immediately, one aspect that may have been forgotten is the promise to release Crunchyroll-licensed series’ on physical media. Now the two are delivering on this promise as well!

Over the weekend, Crunchyroll announced the first titles that they will be releasing on Blu Ray and in DVD combo packs.
