Earlier this year it was announced that popular Netflix anime series Little Witch Academia would be getting a PS4 game adaptation. With the recent conclusion of the show’s first season, more information has come to light concerning its video game counterpart, Little Witch Academia: Toki no Mahō to Nana Fushigi (Little Witch Academia: The Magic of Time and the Seven Wonders). On June 25, 2017 a new thirty second commercial aired revealing more game footage, as well as information about the game’s physical limited edition and its release date. Fans of the show will also be happy to hear it was announced that Studio Trigger, the show’s creators, will be providing new footage exclusively for the game. The game is set for a release date of November 30, 2017. The limited edition of the game will cost 11,110 yen and will include a number of exclusives such as:
- An exclusive box illustrated by Studio Trigger
- A special contents Blu-ray Disc
- An exclusive art book
- A drama CD
- A Game original Chariot Card
Those that pre-order the game will be given a product code for another PS4 game, Madō Senshi Guransharion (Sorcerer Warrior Grancharion) which is based off the magic powered mecha that appears in episode eighteen of the Little Witch Academia TV anime.
Little Witch Academia will feature an original story starring main series protagonist Kagari Atsuko and the cast of the series as they spend their summer vacation searching for “The Seven Wonders of Luna Nova”. This brand new story takes place after the events of Little Witch Academia TV, but Trigger Studio has planned ahead for those who aren’t caught up. The first thirteen episodes will air on Netflix on June 30, 2017 ahead of the release of the game. Bandai Namco has also announced that they will be hosting a live stream on July 23, 2017 (20:00 JST) to talk about both the game and the anime, which will be streamed on YouTube and NicoNico.
