On May 16, 2017, legendary Swiss watchmaker RJ-Romain Jerome added another Pokémon themed watch to his collection. This comes as no surprise after his successful partnership with The Pokémon Company last October for their 20th anniversary release of 20 limited edition Pikachu-themed watches. The Tourbillion Pokémon, a tourbillion watch made to demonstrate RJ’s watchmaking virtuosity, pictures some of the world’s most beloved and famous creatures ranging all the way from Kanto to Kalos.
The unique features of the watch pictured above include: a dial hand filled with enamel, a thunderbolt shaped tourbillion bridge (symbolic of Pikachu’s iconic attack), the Pikachu-shaped oscillating weight, and a Pokémon themed pattern laser-engraved on the back. The watch band features yellow and blue stitching, imitative of Pokémon’s classic logo.
If the Tourbillion Pokémon ticks your clock, be warned. This one-of-a-kind watch has been valued at €200,000, approximately 10 times the cost of a large-band Rolex. If that price didn’t scare you away, you can send an inquiry regarding its purchase to RJ here.
